Act One: Snow Flight: Chapter Three: Trap Lines Summary

Jennifer Aratuk finishes checking her father's trap lines and is headed for the family cabin when she hears the gunshot. As an Alaskan Sheriff, Jennifer knows the kinds of dangers that can be encountered, and she goads her dog team into high gear. She barely makes the last leg of her trip, and is greeting with enthusiasm by Bane, recognizing him at the last moment. Her father, John, is standing in the doorway and tells her that he had already warned Matt that he wasn't welcome there. When Jennifer hears that Brent Cummings is dead and that it wasn't an accident, she softens, hurt by the news as Matt was, and lets him and Craig inside.

John stomps off to see to Mariah and the dogs without a word...
