Summary

In "Me Real," Mary opens with a fight between her kids in which her daughter delivered the memorable line, "Me real!" (107). This leads into a conversation about Mary's fertility issues. While trying to conceive her second child, Mary began to have health issues and was eventually created for possible organ failure. She did not realize the severity of the issues, and rather handled the situation from a practical mindset, equating it to not running when one is fearful.
