Pages 1 through 42 Summary

The gossip girl sends a message to everyone who attended her party. She thanks everyone for coming even if they didn't know who she was. She appreciates the gifts, especially the caramel poodle. The gossip girl is not ready to reveal who she is just yet. She likes being mysterious. But the party was nice - better than waiting to hear about college acceptance. Of course there are plenty of diversions - couture clothes, Upper East Side apartments with staff, limitless credit cards, hot cars, and doting parents.

She saw "s" walking up Madison Avenue drawing mustaches on her face in Les Best parfum ads. Saw "b" indulging in her show fetish. Saw "d" smoking on the subway platform. Saw "j" with her new boyfriend "e." "v" and her big sister were dumping garbage or maybe it was "d's" dead body...
