Chapter 6, The Consul's Tale, Remembering Siri Summary

The group is passing by Chrono's Keep, a homage to the Shrike, and decide to stay there for the night. After dinner, the group witnesses fireworks in the sky as the Ousters begin to test the FORCE defenses. They turn their heads to see a single figure walking towards the Tombs. It is Masteen. He will arrive hours before them.

The group decides it's the Consul's turn to tell his story, and since Masteen has gone to the Tombs, it will be the last one heard. The Consul explains, that much like Hoyt, his story can only be told by telling another's first. He turns on the old recorder he has brought with him, and they all listen together.
