Summary

In Chapter 3, Sandra described the house they live in in Uvira. There was a madamme tree in the yard. Alex taught Sandra to climb the tree. and Deborah wanted to climb as well. When Sandra offered to lift Deborah up, Rachel stopped her. Sandra had a pet monkey named Kiki, and Deborah would often get into fights with the monkey over bananas. The family lived in a big yellow house that had simply been abandoned. Though they were not wealthy, they had running water, a radio, and a television. The electricity was sporadic. They watched soccer and music programs on the television and Sandra loved to dance.
