Summary

The title pages for Chapter 4 display a drawing with childish writing on the top explaining the scene. On top of the drawing are three polaroid pictures in succession, with presumably Jarrett and his mother smiling and making goofy faces together. The chapter opens with Shirley drunk and yelling at Joe and Jarrett. She starts walking upstairs to go to bed and falls drunkenly, breaking her arm. The next page shows Ja and his grandmother watching The Price is Right together while Shirley makes comments about the woman, calling her a tramp. Jarrett talks about the recurring nightmares with monsters coming back, and the imagery reflects their darkness. But he begins to have new nightmares about his grandparents with their heads on the cabinet talking to him, or his chair grabbing and biting him. The colors are lighter though still gray, orange, and lighter...
