Summary

Chapter 21

In Chapter 21, Sophie soon realizes that the girl is the ghost of her great-grandmother, Alice, who has cast a spell over Hecate so they can leave without waking anyone. Sophie follows her into the woods, where they arrive at a small graveyard that also contains a tall statue of an angel and Sophie recognizes it as the one depicted in a stained glass window at Hecate. It is the angel that cast out the Prodigium. Suddenly Sophie feels a heavy blow and falls to the ground, and Alice says she should have been able to sense and block such a simple attack spell. Then she reveals that she has come to help Sophie sharpen her powers to prepare her to become head of the Council.
