Point of View

This story is told from the point of view of a third person narrator. This narrator is omniscient and is able to tell the thoughts, actions, and motivations of a variety of different characters including Derek, Morgan, Lance, Chelsea, and Harold. Even though this narrator is all knowing, he does not share all of the information he has with the reader. For instance, he does not specifically say why Harold arranges for Morgan to run into him at the grocery store. He only indicates that this does take place. The narrator also skews that time frame and makes the reader believe at first that Derek breaks into Tim and Chelsea’s house while they are still there.
