The Husband Stitch Narrator

The narrator is a first-person, unnamed woman who, throughout the course of the story, ages from 17 to around 35. She describes her physical features as being beautiful, having a pretty mouth, and heaving breasts that are both innocent and perverse. She also has a green ribbon around her neck. She was sexually abused in her adolescence by a schoolteacher and explains that she had nightmares for months after this incident. She has one son with her husband who is a difficult birth and is unable to bare anymore children. She does not have a job outside of her domestic job as mother and housekeeper but her hobbies include telling stories and attending art classes.
