Summary

Terese writes that her work emulates the art of her Salish culture which is "sparse and interested in blank space" (50). It is now spring and Terese tells her therapist that she feels no purpose without Casey. Knowing "what a normal person might do" Terese tries to "enact it all" (50). She remembers visiting her first son Isidore with Isaiah during a supervised visit at the YWCA and says that she lets Isaiah visit his father and brother as often as she can bear.
