Hatred

Valerie begins a list she calls the hate list because she is frustrated and needs a way to deal with her feelings. When Nick finds out about the list, it becomes something that they can share together. For three years, Valerie and Nick add to the list, often discussing it over the phone and in emails. Valerie never sees how seriously Nick takes this list, she only sees it as a fiction to help her deal with the people who torment her at school and at home. Nick, however, sees it as a hit list and in the end acts on it, killing or injuring several of the people whose names are on the list.

After Nick's shooting rampage at school, Valerie becomes aware of how dark her thoughts had been for the last three years as well as how dark Nick's were. Valerie struggles with these thoughts...
