Chapter 15 Summary

Harry was again the bridge between Ron and Hermione. Even talking to the two individually was difficult: Almost everywhere Ron went, Lavender went; the only place Harry could properly talk to Hermione was in the library in the evenings. One evening, Hermione warned him to be careful, because she had overheard girls in the bathroom talking about how to slip him a love potion. Harry later asked Luna if she wanted to go to the Christmas party with him as a friend. She, of course, said yes. Hermione asked Cormac Mclaggan, just to annoy Ron. At the party, Harry noticed that Snape took Malfoy off to the side. He followed them sneakily and could scarcely believe what he heard. Snape was offering to help Malfoy and Malfoy refused that help.
