Summary

Happy realizes that he is still a peasant with limited understanding and abilities (433). Although he may have had other options, he decides to carry the corpse with Lively out and as far as he could to take him home. They pretend that Wufu is drunk and take a taxi back to their room to take quilts and wrap them around Wufu's body. They take a taxi back to Xi'an in order to gather Wufu's belongings. Lively is afraid of the body but Happy is not. Happy wishes that Eight were there instead of Lively.
