Summary

In 1986, a woman named Novak takes care of her father, Edward, in a New York City flat. Novak works as a window washer, a job she inherited from her father before he was injured in a ghastly accident. Charlotte has long since abandoned the family, and Edward is in the process of giving away the heirlooms he inherited from Agnes and Ignace. Novak’s best friend Felix, who works as a drag queen, comes by and insists on attending a Broadway show with her. Before she leaves, Edward comes across the glass honeybee his mother gave him on the day his life changed forever. He puts it on a string and insists that Novak wear it, which she agrees to do.
