Progress Report 10 Summary

Charlie has figured out a new way to set up the mixing machines in the bakery to speed production, and Mr. Donner gives him another raise. Everyone else seems frightened and hostile toward him. Charlie cannot entirely blame them; they do not understand the changes in him. He remembers when Gimpy and Frank tried to teach him how to make rolls. Gimpy offered him a shiny good luck piece if he could get it right. They showed him repeatedly, but when they waited for him to do it on his own, he could not.
