Summary

In Chapter 23, beginning at 2 a.m., as the truck approached, the sniper warned the teens over the radio to get rid of the people or that he would kill them. The sniper told them that if they signaled the people for help or tried to warn them they were in trouble he would kill them. Oliver decided to try to get a message to the people anyway.

A man and woman who introduced themselves as Don and Joyce were driving the pickup. They said they were on the way home from meeting their first grandchild. After seeing the flashing lights, they had driven around to see if someone might be in trouble.
