Summary

In Chapter 16, Will is feeling depressed over leaving Stella, listening to her voicemail and watching her YouTube videos over and over. Suddenly, he sees a note slide under his door. It is a crude drawing by Stella of the two of them, with a caption that says, “FIVE FEET AT ALL TIMES” (170). He hears a notification on his laptop; Stella has posted a new video. In it, she outlines B. cepacia and a number of safety protocols she plans to implement when interacting with Will in the future. She goes on to say that she will no longer stay six feet away from Will, only five feet. She is taking a symbolic stand. She is holding a pool cue, and she tells Will to meet her in the hospital's atrium at nine o'clock.
