Elio Perlman

Elio Perlman previously appeared in André Aciman’s novel Call Me By Your Name. He is Jewish and bisexual. He is originally from America, but he lives in Europe. Elio is an aspiring pianist. When he was 17 years old, he had a romantic/sexual relationship with Oliver, who was a graduate student studying under Elio’s father at the time. Find Me examines later periods in Elio’s life. In Chapter 1 (in which he appears only briefly), he is in his late twenties, living in Italy, and struggling to become a professional pianist.

In Chapter 2, a few years later, he is living in Paris. He makes a living by teaching music and piano, but he still has not been able to become an established pianist.
