Summary

37. Joy and Marcus return to the highway, and after a bit of a wait for a ride, they are given a lift by a white-robed choir, making a cross country tour. As the choir reveals the details of their plans, and later sings at a rest stop, Joy recalls the voices of the pilgrims, calling up from outside the Hospital. She then puts Marcus’ hand on her stomach and asks him to tell her what he feels.
