Chapters 8-11 Summary

Chapter 8. Angie decides to accept Mrs. Bittner's invitation so that she can tell her about the damage her son has done to her. The Bittner house is a mansion on a lakefront property in the wealthy section of town; the house looks like a castle to Angie, complete with a wrought iron gate and towers. Angie, her father, and Jason are let into the house by a man named Hank who says that he has been with the Bittner family for 30 years. Hank takes them to a formal sitting room and says that Mrs. Bittner will be there shortly. Angie starts to feel as though coming to the house is a mistake, and says that she wants to leave.
