Summary

In Chapter 1, Michael Rogers tries to determine if his story began when he saw the bill of sale for The Towers, when he met Santonix or when he first saw Ellie. He knows that his desire for a beautiful house that Santonix would build for him began during his talks with the architect. He wanted to live happily in that house with the girl he loved.

He decides to begin with Gypsy’s Acre, the name the locals have for the spot of property on which The Towers is located. A man told Mike that particular spot of ground was where accidents happened.
