Book 1 Weyr Search - Chapter 5 Summary

F'lar senses the watch-wher is hiding something. F'nor's dragon senses it as well, but F'lar trusts his dragon, Mnementh, to sort it out. The two dragonmen stand within hastily cleaned guest quarters warming themselves before the fire. They and their dragons have sensed the power in Ruatha. F'lar finds it hard to believe that the ancient Hold has fallen into such disrepair. F'nor tries to come up with reasons that they may have misread the power, but F'lar stops him. "'That watch-wher is hiding something, and only someone of the Blood of its Hold can arrange that, brown rider,' Flar said emphatically." (p. 34) Even though Ruatha has been overcome, the Hold still resists in subtle ways. He claims it is the power at work.
