Summary

Chapter 13 begins with Spencer, a girl in Flora’s 7th grade class, gossiping about how Joe Harris died of an overdose. That evening, angered by their choice to conceal the truth, Flora asks her parents about his death, and Pam tells her he died of a stress-induced heart attack due to the 9/11 attack. Soon after, Pam runs into Eloise in New York and tells Eloise the truth about Gwen leaving Joe unconscious after overdosing. Eloise invites Pam and Daniel to perform their music at a fashion show under the name Marmalade Skye.
