Chapter VII, pgs. 751-801 Summary

There is a discussion of Kidd and his leadership role over the scorpions. The book he has supposedly written is popular. Kidd says his life in Bellona is like a book full of mysteries that will be revealed at the end.

Kidd learns of a sniper shooting at the bank and that Paul Fenster was shot. They don't know if he is dead. He also learns that all of his latest writing were destroyed in a fire. He says it doesn't matter because he didn't like them anyway. They know there will be riots because of the Fenster shooting.
