Grant Courtland

Grant Courtland is the husband of Angela and the father of Sean and Caitlin. He works as a homebuilder and general contractor and normally resides in Wisconsin with his wife and children. He is a recovering alcoholic, and he used to have extramarital affairs. He resolved to stop his affairs after Angela found out. Unfortunately, he eventually resumed having affairs, and Angela found out again, coincidentally on the same day as Caitlin’s disappearance. At the end of the novel, after Caitlin is found, it appears that Grant and Angela may attempt to rebuild their marriage.

After Caitlin’s disappearance, Grant resides in Colorado with a local man named Emmet. Grant helps search for Caitlin whenever the sheriff department deems him useful.
