Summary

In Chapter 10, the following day, Melinda “did not say a word” to Vic (107). When Vic picked up Trixie at the Petersons, he told them about Charley’s death, deciding it would be “unnatural . . . if he didn’t” (107).

Throughout the day, “two things . . . kept repeating” in Vic’s mind (108). One was Phil’s question about whether or not Melinda was in love with Charley. Another was the fact that the Wilsons may have seen Vic drowning Charley when they left the party.
