Parents are People

Parents are individuals with their own dreams and goal. Sweet Pea must learn this about her own parents. Though they were a unit when they were married, they have thoughts and plans outside of their role as her parents.

Sweet Pea's parents are divorced, and they have nearly identical houses on the same block. Her mother's house is the original and her father, Andre, rents a house that is very similar, with the exception of a third bedroom. Sweet Pea looks in that room one day and discovers that her father, a painter who paints houses and businesses, is dabbling in artistic painting. He has canvasses scattered around the room, featuring paintings of Sweet Pea, her cat, and the two houses. Sweet Pea is shocked at his secret work.
