Summary

On the Friday after the debate, the news reports that black teen Tavarrius Jenkins has died of gunshot wounds inflicted by a Florida police officer. In Socio Evo, Justyce sees SJ crying and wants to comfort her, but she storms out first, to Doc’s surprise. Justyce waits until she leaves campus and then goes to nap in his dorm room. Manny finds him there later and tells him that being alone is bad for his mental health. Manny pesters Justyce until he agrees to go party.

While he waits for Manny to get ready, Justyce drinks and cries. Manny asks if it is about SJ. Justyce refuses to admit to his tears or their cause, but he brings up Tavarrius. He is haunted by the fatal assumptions of police officers—the same could have happened to him. Manny takes him...
