Chapter 22-25 Summary

In chapter twenty-two, Rachel slowly wakes up and hears people talking. She knows that she is now already at the rat fights and that she is being entered by Trent. She is not put into the fights until later so that the drugs can have a chance to wear off. Before long, Rachel is thrown into a pit with a rat named Baron, who has fought and killed several rats already. Rachel dodges his first attack and kicks. Then she dodges another. She knows that she won't kill for Trent but that she doesn't want to be killed either. Rachel is trying to figure out what to do when Baron gets a hold of her nose but doesn't hurt her. After a moment Rachel realizes that Baron is a person, just like her. Baron realizes the same thing and they begin...
