Chapter 4 Summary

Suze wakes up to find Maria de Silva Diego threatening her life if her father and brother don't stop digging the hole. Suze recognizes her from the picture in the history book she and Doc looked at in the library. At the time of her death, Maria was married to the Felix Diego. She tells Suze to destroy the letters and not to tell hector, which is Jesse's real name, anything. After Maria disappears, Suze goes into her bathroom. When she emerges, Jesse is there asking if she's okay.

When Suze gets to work, Caitlin tells her that the Slaters have asked for her for the rest of their vacation. Mrs. Slater thanks Suze for helping Jack and mentions to her that he thinks he sees dead people. Jack is in his swimsuit and ready for Suze to teach him more swimming. She...
