Summary

The final section of the book begins with Callie running away from Sea Pines through an emergency exit door following an individual therapy session that sparks a moment of panic about her brother and his asthma. She tries to take in her surroundings as she attempts to run home in the cold, having to stop before too long from exhaustion. She finds a pay phone and calls her father to meet her at a donut shop across the street so he can take her home.
