Chapters 13-14 and Epilogue Summary

The prosecutor asks Scarpetta to come to his office for questioning. On advice from Grueman, Scarpetta refuses. At the end of January, Scarpetta is called to testify before a grand jury regarding the deaths of Susan Story and Frank Donahue. In the days prior to her grand jury appearance, Scarpetta is warned by Marino that the prosecutor's evidence is circumstantial, but compelling.
