Summary

In Chapter 16, Peik and her father pay a visit to Dr. Gu to find out more about Nick Young’s family and the mysterious hidden palace off of Tyersall Road. Dr. Gu an old family friend with an impressive knowledge on Singaporean history. Peik, Wye Mun, and Dr. Gu sit down at tea, and Wye Mun immediately asks questions about the Young family. Dr. Gu is startled and says he has not heard that name in years. He asks why Peik and her father are so interested in the Young family. After a short pause, Wye Mun answers that Peik’s friend is involved with Nick Young, so Wye Mun and Peik just want to find out more about the family.
