Dad Had to Go to Work through He Knew it, Too Summary

Even though it is their first chance to spend time together in nearly nine years, Kristina's dad announces he will not be home that evening in the section, "Dad Had to Go to Work." He has not even told his boss his daughter is visiting. In "He Worked in a Bowling Alley," Kristina's dad offers to take her with him to work. Kristina turns down her dad's offer in "I Opted Out." The section, "Not Quite Silent" describes the noises Kristina hears while in her dad's empty apartment.
