Summary

In Chapter 5, Ava waited until the cancellation window was closed to tell Oli about her trip. Her husband was incensed that she would plan a trip without consulting him and begged her to postpone until they could travel as a family. When Ava would not budge on her resolve, he snidely said, “We both know you won’t even survive the flight out” (52).
