Summary

The speaker exhorts Corinna to get up and see how beautiful the morning is. The dawn is arriving, with it many colors. Corinna is playfully scolded for still being in bed, when the birds and a thousand young women are out celebrating.

He tells her to get up and put on her green dress so she can be admired. She does not need to dress up, because the beauties of nature will soon descend on her, beautifying whatever she is wearing. The joy of the day cannot begin until she arrives, so she is told to skip her prayers and get ready to enjoy the day.

He then describes the beauty of the place she will see during this maying. The fields, streets, and parks are all green. The speaker argues that this is so beautiful that they have an obligation to go admire...
