Chapter 27

Since Kylie's mind is filled with all her problems, she struggles through her classes. She stops to speak with Hayden after class to tell him that the sword had magically appeared on her lap. Hayden insists that the magical sword has nothing to do with Kylie being a chameleon, which leaves Kylie continuing to struggle to find out its purpose. Kylie thinks it has something to do with her ghost, but he cannot confirm it. Kylie goes to Holiday’s office with the sword, and Burnett convinces her to hold it again.

Nothing happens when Kylie holds the sword except that it glows and gives her a sense of security. Derek suggests they call Lucas to look at the sword because he is a sword enthusiast. Kylie reluctantly agrees. Lucas sees the sword and an inscription that appears when Kylie holds...
