Summary

In “Voyage Three: 1636,” in London, Timothy Turlock, a repeat thief, had been sentenced to hanging for his crime, but a reverend who had known him since birth suggested that Timothy instead be sent to America and sold as an indentured servant.

In America, Janney agreed to buy Timothy at his wife’s suggestion even though Timothy was small and had lash scars on his back, indicating he was trouble. Timothy soon grew tired of the hard work and little food he was given by Janney. Timothy was impressed by the Steed property when he was sent to work there. When he heard that Janney was almost as rich as the Steeds. he wondered why Janney lived in such poverty.
