June 1, 2003 Summary

The narrator is writing a letter to someone, but the recipient is unknown. The writer is Jessica Darling and she is a student at Columbia University. She is writing the letter to a friend of hers that she hasn't been in touch with for a while. She's describing her trip home to NJ as she sits in the NYC Port Authority waiting to catch her bus.

In the letter, she also reveals that she is taking the drug Accutane. She also reveals that her boyfriend's name is Marcus. One of Marcus's talents is to turn his spam email into haikus that he emails to her at her school email address. Jessica's parents do not help her out financially because she chose to go to Columbia instead of using her full scholarship to Piedmont.
