Summary

In Chapter 8, Vas woke Cyra to tell her that her brother required her to attend a dinner that evening. Cyra did not want to go because she knew her brother planned to use her and her gift as a tool to intimidate others. Vas gave her a bottle of the only painkiller that worked on the current even though it made her so sick she knew she would not be able to eat.

Among the guests at dinner that night were Yma and Uzul Zetsyvis along with their daughter, Lety. Yma insulted Cyra by calling her a child even though Cyra was sixteen. She introduced her daughter, Lety, who made a snide comment about not being able to shake Cyra’s hand.
