First, Chapters 1 through 5 Summary

As the story opens, identical twin sisters Harmony and Melody are at the Meadowlands Mallplex where Melody is trying on a "Fun Bump," a prosthetic belly meant to mimic pregnancy. She's listening to the advertisements indicating how wonderful it is to be a pregnant teenage girl when Harmony interrupts. Melody notes they began talking to each other only a few weeks ago and only met a few hours ago. The perspective changes to Harmony in the second chapter and she notes that she loves the mall. Harmony is from a religious community called Goodside and Melody lives in a secular community called Otherside, both in Pennsylvania. Harmony says the mall is everything Goodside isn't which makes it a prime location for her efforts to spread the word of God. Harmony indicates her first objective is to reach Melody but...
