Summary

Maggie recalls there was an old man in her nursing home who believed when he went to heaven all of the things he lost during his lifetime would be given back to him by St.Peter in a gunnysack. Maggie thinks about what she would find in her own gunnysack. She imagines all the compacts, earrings, and umbrellas she would find. She thinks about the kitten, Thistledown, that Ira gave her as her first present and the other cats they had later on. She remembers the key chain she had from her old boyfriend that she gave to Jesse when he learned to drive. She thinks about the brown beaded necklace she used to have that Daisy lost one day when she was playing dress up.
