The Hotel

The hotel is located in an unidentified city. The narrator stays here for 10 days, during which he spends nearly every hour of every day with the woman. No matter where they are together, or what they are doing during the day, the man always anticipates returning to the hotel with the woman. During their nights there, they have sex and talk in bed. Lying next to the woman in the hotel are some of the narrator's fondest memories.

The Coffeehouse

The coffeehouse is located in the same unnamed town as the hotel. As the narrator tries to piece his memories of the woman back together, he recalls an afternoon they spent in a clean, white coffeehouse.
