Friends & Enemies; Book Nine: Crown of Horns Summary

In chapter one of book nine, Thorn and Fone have been badly injured and are in a dungeon cell where Thorn is having a dream remembering everything that happened the night her parents were killed. In her dream, her mother tells her once again to seek the Crown of Horns. Meanwhile, Gran'ma is on the castle wall watching the advancing rat creatures when two guards come up and bow to her. Suddenly below, Briar appears and offers to let the men live if they surrender to the Lord of the Locusts. Tarsil refuses and pulls back his hood, revealing his hideously scared face that the dragons left him.
