David Hare's The Blue Room is based on a series of sketches called Reigen, written by Arthur Schnitzler in 1896. Director Max Ophuls created a film version of Reigen called
La Ronde, which premiered in 1950 and has since become a favorite of foreign film buffs. The film stars Simone Signoret and Anton Walbrook as the revolving series of intertwined lovers.|
