Summary

Chapter 10 is subtitled Mom's Week. It is Isabella's essay titled The Real Me. Her name is Isabella Badia Thornton. She imagines someone named Isabella would be tall with flowing gold hair. Then, she says that describes her mother. Her father chose the name Badia which means “unique” in an African language. The name Badia reminds her to stand up a little taller. She imagines the name written in a beautiful script once she becomes a famous pianist.

Chapter 11 is subtitled Dad's Week. Isabella's father is Isaiah Maxwell Thornton III. He is a lawyer for a large bank. He drives a Mercedes. He almost always wears a tie and jacket.
