Pages 57-90 Summary

Beth redecorates her tiny duplex with some curtains, blankets, and furniture from Cindy's basement. Beth even spends a little money to paint the living room. Robert is hardly impressed, but Beth feels a little more at home. Robert tells Beth very little about his days at school, but he does tell her about a boy in his class who makes fun of Bennie because he is from Cuba. Beth explains that prejudice against people who are different is wrong.
