Big Swiss

To Greta, Big Swiss's character is symbolic of desire. Even before Greta meets Big Swiss in person, she is transfixed by her. The more she listens to her voice, and later the more time that she spends with her, the more obsessed Greta becomes. For Greta, Big Swiss is the representation of what she wants and who she wants to be. She also allows Greta to feel real desire for the first time in years.

Farmhouse

The farmhouse where Greta lives is symbolic of trauma. In particular, the farmhouse is a physical representation of Greta's interior, and thus the ways in which her trauma has negatively impacted her life. The house's unsteady structure, litany of problems, and variety of infestations are all representations of the ways in which ignored trauma might gradually erode the individual's sense of self.
