Appendix G "Kurzweil vs. Hopkins" Summary and Analysis

Appendix G offers reproductions of sworn testimonies, court documents, and letters regarding Dr. Kurzweil, a medical practitioner, and his legal troubles. The nature of Kurzweil's legal problems is unclear; apparently he became involved with a Mr. Hopkins. Hopkins was a UFO investigator, who was performing hypnosis on suspected abductees. Kurzweil became convinced that Hopkins' practices were medically deleterious and filed a complaint with a government agency. Hopkins responded by filing a complaint against Kurzweil. For whatever reason, Kurzweil's complaint appears to have been dismissed, whereas Hopkins' complaint resulted in a court-ordered mental evaluation of Kurzweil. The mental evaluation found Kurzweil to be mentally unstable and requested the cancellation of Kurzweil's medical license. Kurzweil retained legal representation and argued the matter.
