Summary

Twenty-Two – Jimmie’s family, including Naomi and his younger brother Rupert, gather for Rockhold’s funeral. Most of them know that Rockhold was important in Jimmie’s life, but Rupert is the only one with even somewhat of idea how. He takes Naomi out for a private drink, and they talk about what the police now say happened – that Jimmie and Phaine were carjacked and murdered; that their bodies were buried somewhere, unlikely to be found; and that there was no sign of any identity with the man, whom Rupert and the police both believe was a migrant. When Rupert asks Naomi what Rockhold talked about when they met, she says he was concerned that Jimmie and Phaine had not been in touch, and he was just asking what she knew.
